Just about everyone has heard of the Ten Commandments. Most people could even name one or two of them. Very few have any idea why God gave them to us in the first place. Believe it or not, it wasn't primarily to give us an instruction manual on how to make him happy with us and win eternal life. Rather, it was to show us his perfect expectations for humanity, expectations that we can't possibly keep. The Ten Commandments force us to realize that we need someone to keep God's perfect law in our place. Thankfully, that's exactly what Jesus came to do. During the Wednesdays of Lent, from February 14 through March 21 at 7 pm, we'll take a brief moment in the middle of each week to reflect on what Jesus did to save us from sin - not only as he suffered and died on the cross, but as he lived a life that was in every way a "perfect ten."
